Configured for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 30 inches across the shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 150-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 1289 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU309-2. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
