The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 30-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 90-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 539 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes oil cooling and snow melting, hydronic HVAC converters, and condensate cooling. This build is designated WU304-2.
