Built around a removable U-tube bundle, WU285-4 delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 28-inch diameter shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 99-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 575 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are oil cooling and snow melting, hydronic HVAC converters, and pool and storage-tower heating.
