Configured for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 20-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 69-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 259 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as WU204-210. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are oil cooling and snow melting, condensate cooling, and pool and storage-tower heating.
