For liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 18-inch shell unit, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 125"1/2 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are oil cooling and snow melting, condensate cooling, and hydronic HVAC converters. Optional stainless shells, 90/10 copper-nickel tubes, and cast brass or bronze bonnets suit aggressive or brackish water service. This build is designated WU189-612.
