WU185-26

A removable U-tube bundle gives WU185-26 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 18-inch shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 75-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 242 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are oil cooling and snow melting, condensate cooling, and hydronic HVAC converters.
