A removable U-tube bundle gives WU147-68 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 14-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 93-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes condensate cooling, pool and storage-tower heating, and hydronic HVAC converters. Optional stainless shells, 90/10 copper-nickel tubes, and cast brass or bronze bonnets suit aggressive or brackish water service.
