Built around a removable U-tube bundle, WU147-28 delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 14-inch shell unit, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 93-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 204 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are pool and storage-tower heating, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting.
