The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 92-1/2 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 121 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU127-66.
