WU105-65

This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 10-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 65 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 56 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU105-65. Typical duty includes pool and storage-tower heating, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting.
