Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 10-inch diameter shell, 120-inch shell length, and roughly 125 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 146 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU1010-25. The series sees regular use in pool and storage-tower heating, oil cooling and snow melting, and hydronic HVAC converters.
