Configured for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 12-inch diameter shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 56-1/2 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 68 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, N/A on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature.
