Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling for demanding service. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 113 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 75 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-266-08-108-002. Common applications are condensate cooling, pool and storage-tower heating, and oil cooling and snow melting.
