A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 77 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 49 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as 5-266-08-072-004. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes hydronic HVAC converters, condensate cooling, and oil cooling and snow melting.
