Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Its envelope centers on a 4-inch diameter shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 52-7/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 9.19 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes condensate cooling, pool and storage-tower heating, and oil cooling and snow melting. Optional stainless shells, 90/10 copper-nickel tubes, and cast brass or bronze bonnets suit aggressive or brackish water service.
