A removable U-tube bundle gives 5-265-12-048-001 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 12 inches across the shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 56-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 83 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are hydronic HVAC converters, oil cooling and snow melting, and condensate cooling.
