A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 6-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 76-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 20.2 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-265-06-072-003. The series sees regular use in condensate cooling, oil cooling and snow melting, and hydronic HVAC converters.
