This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. Dimensionally it is a 4-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 52-7/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 9.19 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in pool and storage-tower heating, oil cooling and snow melting, and condensate cooling. This build is designated 5-265-04-048-001.
