Configured for liquid-to-liquid transfer with cross-contamination protection, this configuration carries the double-wall U-tube bundle construction that defines the Diamondback DSU/DWU range. Each tube is vented to atmosphere through a diamond-pattern air gap, so a failure in either wall reports itself outside the unit. Dimensionally it is a 12-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length in a 4-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper (double wall) tubes, and naval brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are process cooling where mixing cannot be tolerated, potable water heating and cooling, and glycol-to-potable loops. This build is designated 5-267-12-048-002.
