It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 84-inch shell length in a 4-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHXS884-4S. Installations range across deionized and treated water cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and chemical and food process cooling.
