A fixed-tubesheet bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of CHXS compact equipment in compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 84-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as CHXS884-1L. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are mechanical seal cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and deionized and treated water cooling.
