This configuration is a CHXS compact unit built on a fixed-tubesheet bundle for compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 66-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 103 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes deionized and treated water cooling, chemical and food process cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated CHXS860-2L.
