Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, this configuration delivers compact liquid cooling in corrosive service for demanding service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. The configuration measures 8 inches across the shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 54-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 82 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in deionized and treated water cooling, chemical and food process cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling. This build is designated CHXS848-4L.
