The CHXS compact platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 55 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 82 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes deionized and treated water cooling, chemical and food process cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated CHXS848-1L.
