It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 42-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 62 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Installations range across hydraulic and lube oil cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and chemical and food process cooling. This build is designated CHXS836-2L.
