Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, this configuration delivers compact liquid cooling in corrosive service for demanding service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 30-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 41 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHXS824-2S. Common applications are mechanical seal cooling, chemical and food process cooling, and deionized and treated water cooling.
