Configured for compact liquid cooling in corrosive service, 5-160-08-048-006 carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHXS compact range. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 54-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 82 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are chemical and food process cooling, deionized and treated water cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling.
