5-160-08-024-006 is a CHXS compact unit built on a fixed-tubesheet bundle for compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 30-3/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 41 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in hydraulic and lube oil cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and deionized and treated water cooling.
