Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, this configuration delivers compact liquid cooling in corrosive service for demanding service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Physically, the unit runs a 4-inch shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 27-5/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 14.1 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in chemical and food process cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated 5-160-04-024-005.
