Configured for compact liquid cooling in corrosive service, 5-160-04-014-004 carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHXS compact range. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Dimensionally it is a 4-inch shell unit, 14-inch shell length, and roughly 17-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 8.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in deionized and treated water cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and hydraulic and lube oil cooling.
