It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Its envelope centers on a 3-inch diameter shell, 14-inch shell length, and roughly 17-1/4 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 4.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are mechanical seal cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and deionized and treated water cooling.
