A fixed-tubesheet bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of CHXS compact equipment in compact liquid cooling in corrosive service. It shares the compact CHX envelope while targeting service that would attack a standard cooler. Dimensionally it is a 3-inch shell unit, 8-inch shell length, and roughly 11-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 2.4 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Installations range across deionized and treated water cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and mechanical seal cooling. This build is designated 5-160-03-008-003.
