Configured for compact liquid cooling, this configuration carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHX compact range. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 54-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 82 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHX848-2S. Common applications are hydraulic and lube oil cooling, engine jacket water cooling, and injection molding machine cooling.
