A fixed-tubesheet bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of CHX compact equipment in compact liquid cooling. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 43 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 62 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated CHX836-1S.
