CHX648-4S

The CHX compact platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and CHX648-4S applies that design to compact liquid cooling. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 53 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 45 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in mechanical seal cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and injection molding machine cooling.
