CHX536-2L

The CHX compact platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compact liquid cooling. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 5-inch shell unit, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 40-5/16 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 24 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in hydraulic and lube oil cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and engine jacket water cooling. This build is designated CHX536-2L.
