Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 30-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 41 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-030-08-024-003. The series sees regular use in mechanical seal cooling, injection molding machine cooling, and engine jacket water cooling.
