For compressed air aftercooling, the ACFR aftercooler line offers a fixed-tubesheet bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Its envelope centers on a 3-1/2-inch diameter shell, 50-inch shell length, and roughly 50 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 8.5 square feet of heat transfer surface on 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in instrument and shop air conditioning, small and mid-size compressor packages, and compressor discharge aftercooling. This build is designated ACFR-332.
