The ACFR aftercooler platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compressed air aftercooling. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Dimensionally it is a 4-1/2-inch shell unit, 50-inch shell length, and roughly 50 inches overall in a 1-pass arrangement. That works out to about 13 square feet of heat transfer surface on 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as 5-005-04-050-002. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300°F maximum temperature.
